How do I bulk-upload auction lots?

Bulk uploading lots

The bulk upload feature is a quick and efficient way to add multiple lots at once, making it ideal for larger auctions.

Step 1: Download the Bulk Upload File

  • Download our bulk upload file here

  • Open the file and enter your lot details.

Required fields:

  • Title 1 (main lot title, e.g. Pablo Picasso)

  • Lot Description

  • Starting Bid

Optional fields:

  • Title 2 (secondary title, e.g. Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, 1907)

  • Estimates (enter whole numbers only, no commas or currency symbols)

  • Shipping details (formatting tags can be used)

  • Tags (up to three searchable keywords, separated by commas)

Step 2: Write Lot Descriptions

Use the lot description section to provide cataloguing details, such as size, medium, artist bio, and other relevant information. Formatting tags can help structure the text for clarity:

  • Paragraphs: <p> ... </p>

  • Bold: <b> ... </b>

  • Italics: <i> ... </i>

  • Hyperlinks: <a href="URL"> ... </a>

  • Line breaks: <br>

Example:

<p>Acrylic and ink on paper</p>
<p>Original Artwork</p>
<p>This auction is curated by <b>The Auction Collective</b></p>

Step 3: Save and Upload Your File

  1. Repeat the steps above for each lot.

  2. Export the file as a CSV (this is the only supported format).

  3. In your auction dashboard, go to the Lots tab and click Import.

  4. Drag and drop your CSV file, or select it from your device.

  5. Click Upload.

Step 4: Add Images

  • Once uploaded, the lots will be populated with placeholder images.

  • You must edit each lot to add at least one image before publishing your auction.

Note: Bulk uploads can be completed in multiple sessions if preferred and images cannot be uploaded in bulk and must be added manually.
