The Auction Collective Curation Policy

Our Curation Policy defines the standards for auction presentation and curation, which are used to evaluate auctions for marketing opportunities.

The Auction Collective is committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and professionalism in the auctions we promote. Due to the high volume of auctions running on Indy.auction, the availability of marketing opportunities through The Auction Collective’s promotional channels is limited.

Marketing requests are reviewed in accordance with The Auction Collective’s Curation Policy. Please note that any marketing promotion is subject to the full completion of the auction set-up, including finalised design, lot order, and the successful upload of all lots.

For illustrative examples of auction designs, please see our various Demo Auctions.

Curation Policy

Polished Auction Design

Auctions should have a clean and well-presented design, with clear and consistent messaging throughout. The presentation of auction lots should be uniform, with lead images consistently sized and cropped to create a cohesive visual experience.

If your auction reflects a specific brand identity, this should be clearly demonstrated through the consistent use of brand elements, such as colours, logos, and fonts.

Curated Lot Order

The order of auction lots should be thoughtfully curated to enhance the bidder's experience. Lots may be organised by theme, artist, medium, or another intentional approach that ensures a seamless and engaging auction experience.

High-quality Presentation of Lots

Each auction lot should be presented with high-quality, professional images. We recommend including three or more images per lot, showcasing the item from multiple perspectives or incorporating images of the artist or creator. Lot descriptions should be detailed and engaging, including relevant information such as provenance, artist background, and links.

For further guidance on image specifications, please refer to our recommended image policy.

Content Standards and Ethics

The Auction Collective adheres to strict content guidelines to ensure that all promotional material aligns with our values. We do not endorse or promote any content that includes violent, hateful, discriminatory, or harmful material. This includes, but is not limited to, content that advocates racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious intolerance, or any form of hate speech.

Content that fails to meet these standards will not be accepted or promoted on our platform under any circumstances.
