How do I use the event displays?

This article explains how to set up and use event displays for your auction, including screen requirements, display types, and best‑practice tips for a smooth experience.

Screen requirements

  • Optimised resolution: 1920 × 1080 (Full HD)

  • Displays will look best on screens set to this resolution or higher.

Backgrounds and branding

  • Background images must be JPEG or PNG format.

  • If switching between a background image and a solid colour: You must delete the existing image or colour first, then select the new option.

Logos

  • You can add up to two logos - One on the left and another on the right.

Display types

1. Leader-board display - Best suited for larger auctions.

  • Uses an infinite scroll layout

  • Ideal when many lots are active or bidding is fast‑paced, allowing bidders to easily follow rapid bidding activity across multiple lots

2. Carousel display - Best suited for smaller auctions.

  • Features larger images

  • Fewer lots displayed at a time for greater visual impact

What appears on the screen

Both the leader-board and carousel displays show:

  • Lot title

  • Lot image

  • Starting bid or current bid

  • Paddle number (when a bid has been placed)

Live bid updates

  • New bids will flash on screen for 4 seconds so the audience can clearly see bidding activity.

Connecting to a screen

You can connect your event display in either of the following ways:

  • HDMI cable from your laptop or computer

  • Screen‑mirroring from your laptop or computer

Top tip: If you have an AV team, they can help fine‑tune the screen size and scaling to ensure the display looks perfect on the venue’s screens.

Login Requirements

  • You must be logged in to the browser for the event displays to open.

  • Event display URLs cannot be shared with someone who is not logged in.

Recommended settings and tips

  • Turn off sleep mode on your laptop or computer to prevent the leader-board or carousel from turning off during the event.

  • Test your display connection before the event starts.

  • If using screen‑mirroring, ensure your internet connection is stable.
