Fraud protection

Fraud protection

We take the security of your payments very seriously. Fraud protection will depend on the payment provider you choose (for example, PayPal or Stripe) and their individual policies. Below is some information on how fraud protection works, what you should know, and direct links to relevant policies from PayPal & Stripe.

What is fraud protection?

Fraud protection refers to the tools, processes, and guarantees that a payment provider offers to detect, prevent, and in some cases reimburse you for fraudulent activities. It’s important to understand that each provider’s coverage, rules, and liability differ. Before you make a payment or choose a payment method, it’s a good idea to review the specific provider’s policy.

How does this apply to using indy.auction?

  • When you choose a payment method (PayPal vs Stripe vs others), the level of protection depends on which provider you use.

  • If something goes wrong (non-arrival of goods, incorrect item, unauthorised charge), what you can do will be governed by that provider’s protection policy.

  • We encourage you to keep records (e.g. order receipts, correspondence, shipping/tracking info) in case you need to make a claim or dispute.

  • If you’re a seller, following the provider’s requirements (e.g. verified shipping address, tracking, etc.) often determines whether you qualify for seller protection.
