Can I publish an auction as a preview page before the auction starts?
Creating a coming soon or preview page
You can use Indy.auction to create a landing page or preview for your auction before bidding begins. This is an effective way to showcase your lots and collect user registrations early.
Setting up a preview page
To create a preview page, you simply need to set your auction's start date to a future time. Once you publish the auction, the platform will display the auction details and any uploaded lots, but bidding will remain disabled until the start date that you selected.
-
Showcase your lots: If you want users to browse your items before the auction starts, ensure your lots are uploaded and set to visible. Visitors can view images and descriptions and register their interest.
-
Hide your lots: If you prefer to use the page as a simple coming soon landing page without showing specific items, you can select Hide lots until auction starts in the auction creator under Privacy Settings. The page will then only display your auction title, description, and registration button.
-
Collect registrations: The platform allows bidders to create accounts and register for your auction as soon as the page is live. This ensures you have a list of approved bidders ready before the first bid is placed.
Publishing the auction
To make the preview or landing page public, select the publish option. Because your start date is set in the future, the auction will remain in a "coming soon" state until that specific time is reached. Once published, you can still make certain edits to your auction.
